1人の殺人鬼から逃げる5人の少年少女のサバイバルホラーがクラウドファンディング開始

カナダのゲーム開発者で、アサシンズクリードの開発経験もあるというJames Mtthew Wearingという人が、1人の殺人鬼から逃げる5人の少年少女のサバイバルホラーゲーム「Last Year」を開発するためのクラウドファンディングを開始。

Last Year – 5 vs 1 Multiplayer Survival Horror

目標額は5万カナダドル。
期限は2014年12月19日まで。

もし金が集まったら、発売は2016年秋の予定。
媒体はPCで、システムはFPS。

プランは、

5カナダドル:特典なし
10カナダドル:ゲームのデジタルコピー版
15カナダドル:名前がゲーム内のクレジットに「銅色」で表記される
20カナダドル:βテストへの参加が追加。クレジットの名前が「銀色」になる
25カナダドル:ゲームのデジタルコピーが2つ。PDF版のアートブックが追加
35カナダドル:サウンドトラックのデジタルコピー版が追加。クレジットの名前が「金色」になる。
50カナダドル(1000人限定):ゲーム内地図のデジタル版とガイドブック(原文の文意がわかりにくいけど、わざわざ「限定」にしてるので、ガイドブックは紙の方だと思う)。クレジットの名前が「エリート」という表記になる

面白そうなんで10カナダドルプランで登録しておいた。

13日の金曜日と内容が酷似していることで、知的財産権を侵害されたと権利者から訴えられたらしい。

Kickstarterはこのゲームをサイトから削除済み。

ゲームの開発者はこのゲームを発売できるように交渉中らしい。

I’ve reached out to their lawyer, my lawyer, and Kickstarter and I’m in discussion to sort this out and get the Kickstarter page back up with the necessary changes so we can move forward.

I would have wished that people who share a passion for the same types of genres including Crystal Lake Entertainment and myself could work together on something like this (which is a win-win for everyone, especially you the fans!) and not work against each other… We’d be able to make a game that’s even more awesome as a team. Unfortunately they chose to work against each other which is really only them trying to benefit themselves.

確かに、舞台のSilver lakeは13日の金曜日のCrystal lakeを思わせる。
殺人者がホッケーマスクを被ってるのも、ジェイソンを思わせる。
でも共通点はそれくらいなんだよね。
だから、共通点を消せば知財に触れないはず。
ただし、13日の金曜日と似ている要素が目標額を200%以上超えた要因だろうから、共通点を消すとバッカー登録を止める(返金を求める)人は多いかもしれない。

ちなみに、Escape from Camp Crystal Lake という、13日の金曜日そのままな無料の脱出ゲームがあるんだけど、こっちはまだ普通に遊べる。
版権者との権利関係がクリアされてるんだろうね。

舞台はCrystal lakeではなくなって、ただのSuburbs(郊外)に変わった。
殺人者の外観がどうなったかはわからない。

ゲーム内容は「殺人者」は素早く動けず、罠を設置して生存者を足止めして1人ずつ殺すというタイプらしい。
この罠は生存者には見えない。
罠にかかった時の反応はキャラに応じて異なる。
